PUTRAJAYA: The Health Ministry has identified 19 new Covid-19 clusters, of which 10 are workplace outbreaks.
In the ministry’s daily Covid-19 updates, it is reported that four out of 10 of the workplace clusters involve factory workers in Selangor and Penang.The cluster was uncovered from a targeted screening exercise conducted of workers of a factory located at Jalan SS 13/5 in Kawasan Perindustrian Subang Jaya.
Besides workplace clusters, another five new clusters detected in Sarawak, Negri Sembilan, Kelantan and Sabah have been classified as community outbreaks. Four clusters - categorised as high-risk group outbreaks - were found in Selangor, Kuala Lumpur and Johor.One of them is the Jalan Hujan Bubuk cluster in Kuala Lumpur, which involves a nursing home at Taman OUG.
The index case is a 53-year-old woman who tested positive on June 15, after developing symptoms on June 3. A screening conducted on 34 staff and residents of the home found 12 positive cases under the cluster.
