The scientific data is published each week and divides Lancashire into much smaller areas.
Lancashire has seen a surge of new cases of coronavirus in the last week. The latest official government figures in the week ending October 7, show cases across the county have risen by more than 10%.We have focused on the areas that have 50-99 cases or higher, according to the MSOA . The new figures come as people are urged to stay home if they have any of the seven common symptoms of the new Pirola Covid variant.
A recent rise in Covid-19 cases has come at the same time children have returned to school and the days have started to turn shorter and chillier. The Pirola variant is close to becoming the dominant strain in the UK and the country has been highlighted as a hub of cases. Please note, that case rates are shown per 100,000 people for the seven-day period ending on October 7. The government calculates this by dividing the seven-day total by the area population and multiplying by 100,000.
