Kenny Young has travelled across the globe taking on a number of important positions in the RAF.
A Cowie RAF veteran has reflected on a career that took him from watching planes fly over Stirling to the highest enlisted rank in the service as he finally grounds after 40 years.
He was promoted to Senior Aircrew on in January 1999 and retires from the service after four decades as the senior Warrant Officer in full-time service with the RAF.He told the Observer: “I always had the fascination with flying and I remember you would see these fast jets flying at low levels over the old red-brick building at Stirling High - it just gripped me and that was the real clincher.
But he has never forgotten his roots in Scotland and in Stirling, with his colleagues naming an entrance at RAF Lossiemouth after him and warm words about his upbringing and times at both Bannockburn and Stirling Highs.
