British R&B and garage icon Craig David brought his Commitment Tour to Manchester's Co-op Live on Valentine's Day, treating 20,000 fans to a night of iconic hits and energetic performances.

Love was in the air at Co-op Live on Friday night as Craig David had 20,000 fans boogying the night away. The British R&B and garage icon treated the venue to a memorable and lively performance on Valentine's Day as part of his Commitment Tour. The gig falling on February 14 seemed to work in his favour, as his music style - and charisma - lends well to romance. It wasn't just Craig who impressed the Manchester-based audience on Friday night.

Noughties R&B legend Lemar opened the show with a romantic and soulful performance, playing hit songs such as 50-50 and What About Love. Ibiza Rocks head DJ Patrick Nazemi hyped up the audience with an energetic, old-school DJ set, turning the place into a massive house party, with hits such as Coolio's Gangsters Paradise and 50 Cent's In da Club. Finally, at around 9.30 pm, the main man appeared. After opening with SOS, Craig made a heartfelt promise to his fans to deliver a night that brought together the best of his repertoire. And boy, did he deliver. Craig has had a long career after rising to fame in the late 90s and early noughties, with the release of his debut album Born to Do It in 2000. He has been at the forefront of iconic British music scenes including garage, R&B, dancehall, hip-hop and pop. Knowing he has a fanbase that spans decades, I was intrigued to see how the British household name could bring elements from all genres and time periods together to please such a variety of fans. There were teenagers and people in their 60s among the crowd - all having an amazing time. We got classics such as Don't Love You No More, Rise and Fall, Walking Away, and of course arguably his biggest song 7 Days. Craig also gave fans a taste of TS5, his unique DJ project. In a surprise moment, he brought out Love Island star turned singer Wes Nelson to perform Abracadabra. The pair have brilliant chemistry. Craig's back up vocals were headed up by Laura V, who has joined him for all his UK gigs on the tour. It's a partnership dreams are made of.If I were to sum up the night, I would say it felt like pure millennial nostalgia. There are only three dates remaining on his Commitment Tour - Craig will visit Birmingham on Saturday 15 February, Bournemouth on Tuesday 18 February, London on Thursday 20 February
