"I was on my exit, I look left and headlights are flying at my face," Monica Durban said. "I can tell you what it’s like to watch death coming at your face."That evening, Monica was in a crash that nearly ended her life. Police said a street racer crossed a median along I-70 and slammed into her car. The driver of the car was killed.
"I’ve spent 16 years trying to form some kind of a life again," Monica said. "It’s just not fair to me. I would do anything to go back in time." "If my words help change anything or if I can save one person by sharing more about the hell I have been through, then it's worth talking about," Monica said.
"The crashes involving speed unfortunately, a lot of those outcomes are not favorable," Hilliard Sgt. Kristopher Settles said. "This operation is in response to citizen concerns. This is not just a nuisance, this is dangerous."Together, the agencies made 45 traffic stops on June 7 and wrote 34 citations, according to Dublin Police.
