The Crenshaw County school system is providing a STEAM camp for its fourth through eighth graders.
LUVERNE, Ala. - Technology runs every aspect of our world. Children as young as fourth through eighth graders are dipping their toes into a pool of opportunity in one rural community in Alabama through a STEAM camp at Luverne High School.
“They can see what’s out there and get interested in it at a young age,” said camp coordinator Tammy Sims, who added that STEAM, which stands for science, technology, engineering, arts and math, was not a thing when she was in school. “With this makes them excited about learning, makes them excited about the science and mathematics,” said Sims.“I like to make robots with my friends, and I really wanted to make new friends from different schools,” said Dire.
