A crime scene in Liverpool 20 miles away has been linked by police to an incident in Southport last night
A police scene in Liverpool has been linked to an incident in Southport which left a man seriously injured. Jamaica Street in the Baltic Triangle was cordoned off on Saturday, July 20, after an incident 20 miles away in Southport where a man was seriously injured while trying to stop the theft of a motorbike. Merseyside Police was called to Leyland Road and The Promenade in Southport at 8.
The ECHO understands officers were focusing their attention on drains on the road and sniffer dogs were brought in earlier this afternoon. Both scenes remain cordoned off while enquiries remain ongoing and police are making enquiries with businesses in the Baltic Triangle area. An eyewitness who works in a local café on Jamaica Street said police have been here for “around three or four hours”. There are three police vehicles and about half a dozen officers in attendance.
