Cristiano Ronaldo scored his 133rd international goal as Portugal beat Poland 3-1 on Saturday, and the former Manchester United forward was in a good mood after the match
Cristiano Ronaldo has been praised for delaying security to allow a fan to take a selfie with him after the fan ran onto the pitch. The 39 year old footballer scored his record-breaking 133rd international goal on Saturday during Portugal's challenging 3-1 victory over Poland in Warsaw.
By this point, Ronaldo had already been substituted off the pitch in the 63rd minute, replaced by Liverpool striker Diogo Jota. As Ronaldo was leaving the field, a young boy ran from the stands and reached the five-time Ballon d'Or winner before security could catch up. Fans took to social media to praise Ronaldo's actions, with one stating: "Ronaldo is keeping it classy," while another added: "He's always thinking of the fans," A third fan commented: "That's legendary! Gotta love when players show some love to the fans,", reports the Mirror.
Robert Lewandowski narrowly missed a header before Zielinski scored, and the hosts felt they were denied a penalty leading up to Bednarek's own goal. "It's part of managing players when you have two games in 72 hours," explained Martinez, as Portugal now gears up to face Scotland in Glasgow on Tuesday.
