Sky F1's David Croft believes McLaren driver Oscar Piastri 'looks a champion in the making'. ✍️ Formula_Nerds F1 McLaren mcl60
David Croft, commentator for Sky Sports F1, and Alan Jones, former F1 World Champion, have expressed their belief that Oscar Piastri of McLaren will become World Champion in the future. The two F1 figures spoke independently about their thoughts on the Australian rookie, a clear indication of the potential and raw ability that he possesses.
Both Leclerc and Russell find themselves near the head of the field nowadays; perhaps it’s not so far-fetched to believe that Piastri will make his way up the grid as he gains more experience.around the Bahrain International Circuit was cut short after just 13 laps due to an electrical failure. Nonetheless, these disappointing results have been far from his fault. McLaren have designed a sub-standard car in the MCL60, and with teammate Lando Norris failing to score points in both races as well the Woking outfit find themselves at the foot of the Championship.and split up the Technical Director role in an effort to move up the grid, but it’s unlikely that Piastri and the team will be shooting up the order in the short term.
“Every once in a while somebody comes along who has tremendous talent and I guess he’s that kind of people.”The former F1 driver thinks that the 21-year-old performed especially well in Saudi Arabia, giving his much more experienced teammate Norris a real battle which he ultimately won. Jones said: “He certainly put in the performance that we expected from him, especially the last one , I thought he drove particularly well.
