Alfred Turner left his home address and was seen by another man who asked him what he was holding, to which Turner replied 'it's a crossbow'.

Alfred Turner, 44, admitted killing Dave Peck last year on December 23 last year with the weapon in the Lamb and Lion pub in Westcliff, Essex.

Dave was hit in the chest and as he fell to the floor, other people in the pub tried to help him. This was a random attack and Dave Peck was a stranger to Turner. At Basildon Crown Court he was given a life sentence with a section 45A hospital order. This means he will be detained at a mental health facility and if fit will then be sent to prison.
