Eight days after six people were killed, political leaders and local residents are piling into Bondi Beach for a candlelit vigil.
Thousands of people have gathered at Bondi Beach for a public candlelight vigil for the six people fatally stabbed at Westfield Bondi Junction eight days ago.
The candlelight vigil was organised by Waverley Council and the NSW government as a way of bringing the community together and honouring the victims of the Bondi tragedy.on Saturday, April 13 took the lives of five women and a man: they included new mother and osteopath 38-year-old Ashlee Good, bride-to-be 25-year-old Dawn Singleton, architect and mother-of-two Jade Young, 47, artist Pikria Darchia, 55, Chinese economics student Yixuan Cheng, 27, and Westfield security guard Faraz Tahir, 30.
More than 100 members of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Youth Association also attended the vigil to honour those who died, including Tahir, a Westfield security guard on his first day shift who has been hailed as a hero.
