He pleaded guilty to second-degree felony count of aggravated assault causing bodily injury with a deadly weapon, theBunton had been held at the Lubbock County Detention Center since October, after a warrant was issued in January 2019.He was first taken to Covenant Children’s Hospital, but was later transported to the University Medical Center burn unit as he suffered second- and third-degree burns on his genitals, buttocks, and stomach.
Investigators were told by the boy's mother - who was at work when her son was given the scalding bath - that Bunton called her saying he'd "messed up" and urged her to come home, the journal reported.According to the warrant, the boy's mom denied any domestic violence and claimed her boyfriend was a good father.
