The cruise ships have changed course to avoid the worst of the hurricane.
Two cruise ships, Harmony of the Seas and Carnival Dream, were spotted off the coast of Galveston as Hurricane Beryl hit Texas in the early hours of Monday morning.As of 5:20 A.M. CT Monday, the two ships were heading eastward out of the Gulf of Mexico. The center of the storm, just off the coast of Galveston, is seeing 20-foot waves.
'Our experienced officers on board worked together with our Fleet Operations Center in Miami to sail safely and the team on board will continue to deliver a great vacation for our guests,' they said.The U.S. Coast Guard has confirmed to Newsweek that both ships are currently at-sea, avoiding the most severe impacts of Beryl.Beryl briefly lost some of its strength over the weekend, after wreaking havoc and causing at least 11 deaths in the Caribbean last week.
