The inside track on the football stories that matter
West Ham are unlikely to meet the asking price set by Leeds United in their pursuit of star winger Crysencio Summerville., senior correspondent Pete O’Rourke revealed that the Hammers would not go above their initial £20million bid and could now drop out of the race.
However, it remains to be seen whether any interested club will be able to meet the £35million price tag Daniel Farke’s side have placed on his head. Last season, he scored 21 goals and provided ten assists as Leeds narrowly missed out on promotion, losing to Southampton in the playoff final at Wembley.
However, sources say Summerville is still expected to leave Elland Road before the transfer window closes given the level of interest, with clubs tipped to eventually meet the asking price.
