Leeds United's squad is focussed on winning promotion to the Premier League and have the belief they'll do it
Crysencio Summerville says Leeds United's dressing room has the belief they will go on and achieve their ambition of winning promotion to the Premier League. On the back of an unbeaten run in 2024 which has rocketed Leeds not just into the automatic promotion conversation, but the title race, the belief and confidence within the Leeds camp is as high as it has been for years.
Leicester's lunchtime loss on Friday at Bristol City opened the door for Leeds and Ipswich to walkthrough and Whites fans will be hoping for a repeat tomorrow, setting up a fevered atmosphere at Elland Road. But Summerville insists the Leeds players will not be worrying about the results earlier in the day on Monday, instead focussing solely on what they need to do.
"We have to focus on ourselves," said Summerville, speaking to Sky Sports. "Seven more games, we have to go again. We're confident. We were far behind Leicester and Ipswich as well. You can see we have belief. Everything is possible." He added: "We wanted to win the three points but it's a really good point on the road and we have to take the positives and go again. I was unlucky with the first so thought let's do it again. It was fantastic to see it go in the top corner, I'm happy with it."
