Crystal Palace are weighing up their options at striker with Jean-Philippe Mateta's future uncertain. If a new contract can't be agreed, the club will consider selling Mateta and investing in a new attacking option.
Crystal Palace are considering signing a new striker if they can't agree a new contract with Jean-Philippe Mateta . Mick Brown, a former chief scout for Manchester United and Blackburn Rovers, says the club are prepared to sell Mateta in the summer if he doesn't commit to a new deal. A new striker would likely be a rotational option to complement the £30 million signing of Eddie Nketiah from Arsenal in the summer.
Mateta, 27, has been a key player for Palace this season, scoring seven goals in 20 appearances. He has also impressed at the end of last season, with 13 of his 16 league goals coming after Oliver Glasner's arrival as manager. However, Palace are reportedly concerned about matching Mateta's wage demands and may explore other options
