Mary McDonald, a long-term fraudster conned her partner out of £32k and left him bankrupt.
A fraudster who duped her partner out of more than £30,000 by posing as him to forge legal documents has been allowed to walk free from court.
"This all started because she and her partner had hoped to make a home for themselves. She took over, including purchasing all the materials but she wasn't able to cope and she didn't want to tell her partner that was the case." The 41-year-old admitted forming a fraudulent scheme to dupe Mr Reid out of £32,000 between 1 May 2014 and 3 August 2019.

The court heard McDonald and Mr Reid were in a relationship for nearly 20 years but separated in 2019. Over time, substantial debts began to mount and credit cards were maxed out, resulting in payment charges. Due to perceived non-compliance, officers returned to the house on 13 August 2018 and gained entry. They changed the locks and left a note, requesting occupants attend their offices and pick up a new set of keys.
