CUYAHOGA COUNTY , Ohio -
It’s all to help the formerly incarcerated get reacquainted with the world, while some are going hungry in Northeast Ohio. Studies show formerly incarcerated people are twice as likely to suffer from food insecurity than the general population.“ making sure that when individuals return from home, they are aware of the free food resources, along with other resources, so they can reach sustainably and care for themselves and their families,” said Tiffany Scruggs with the Greater Cleveland Food Bank.
The food bank is opening their Community Resource Center and grocery store doors to the formerly incarcerated.“Our chefs can select items from our market and prepare meals and show our community members how to shop on a budget and make healthy items for themselves and families,” said Scrubbs. The county will also connect people with different organizations for resources to get back on their feet.Woman dies after pushed down steps, suspect arrested: Cleveland PoliceStark County firefighters save ducklings from drain
