Transplant surgeries have reportedly been cancelled, while patients are referred to different hospitals
Services run byIT firm Synnovis have reportedly been hit by a “major IT incident”, affecting King’s College Hospital, Guy’s and St Thomas’ – including the Royal Brompton and the Evelina London Children’s Hospital – and primary care services.
Blood transfusions were also particularly impacted, with NHS trusts saying the attack was having a “major impact” on its services.it could take “weeks, not days” to access pathology results again. Seventy-year-old Oliver Dowson was prepared for an operation from 6am on Monday at Royal Brompton when he was told the operation would not be going ahead at about 12.30pm.
In a message to staff on Monday, Guy’s and St Thomas’ reportedly said: “Synnovis, the pathology provider, for both King’s and Guy’s & St Thomas’ informed us of a major incident with ICT systems.” Synnovis is a provider of pathology services and was formed from a partnership between SYNLAB UK & Ireland, Guy’s & St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust, and King’s College Hospital NHS Foundation Trust.
