The Cybercrime Investigation and Coordinating Center (CICC) said Wednesday it expects to release its findings on whether a cyberattack caused the malfunctioning of the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA)’s air traffic management system last New Year’s day which affected over 56,000 passengers and shut down Philippine airspace.

“CAAP is not connected with DICT, so our investigation will be based on their logs in their network. CAAP [also] has a huge system, and we are addressing the most critical part [first] which is the one powering up the whole system to ensure continuity and quality of operations. But as far as the operations side [of CAAP], we haven’t finished [our] assessment on it,” Ramos pointed out.
