“I’ve met with the head of Ukrainian railways. The Ukrainian railways have been specifically targeted by Vladimir Putin and many staff have been killed there,” he said. The RMT’s executive had been discussing a new offer from the Rail Delivery Group , which represents the companies, after already settling a pay dispute with Network Rail.
“Stage 2 discussions which are part of the offer made by the employer would then have to begin without the union having any industrial leverage at the negotiating table.”
