The Bully Blocker, created in 2011 by former District Attorney Ashley Rich, allowed students to report instances of bullying anonymously. However, the Bully Blocker program ended at the beginning of 2023.
The Bully Blocker, created in 2011 by former District Attorney Ashley Rich, allowed students to report instances of bullying anonymously.The DA’s office says the Bully Blocker served its purpose, but now the school system has a similar program in place called the One Voice Matters.
Mobile County Public Schools Safety Director Andy Gatewood says MCPSS has its own reporting line- One Voice Matters- that began a few years ago. The DA’s office says school staff and personnel are closer to potential bullying incidents and are in the best position to resolve these situations.
