A DAD and his nine-year-old daughter were both shot dead by a hunter who mistook them for deer, police say.
Lauren Drawdy and dad Kim, 30, were fatally wounded on a New Year's Day hunting trip near Walterboro, South Carolina.Kim Drawdy was a keen hunter who was teaching his daughter to shootIt is believed they and two others were attempting to drive deer from woods towards an area set up for the shoot.Officers are treating it as an accident,Stunned family and friends said Lauren was "devoted" to her dad, shared his love of the outdoors and followed him on hunting trips.
A spokesman said more information, such as whether the father and daughter were wearing high-vis safety gear, will not be revealed until the probe is concluded.
