He's been jailed for six-and-a-half years
A dad will spend the next six-and-a half years behind bars after shaking his baby son so hard he fell into a coma and died.
Despite efforts by medical staff to save the little boy, the difficult decision to turn off his life support was made the next day.A post mortem determined Harry died from a brain injury after being ‘forcibly shaken’. The heating engineer, from Midhurst, West Sussex, denied the offences, and claimed he knew how to properly hold Harry.He told Lewes Crown Court: ‘Most of the time I spend with him when I got home from work was when he was crying.’
After being found guilty Barnes was ordered to serve a concurrent two year sentence for GHB, alongside his jail time for manslaughter.
