Grace Baker, 11, was fined £100 on her way home from school
Steven Baker’s daughter Grace was on the way home from school when she got off the train at Old Roan on September 20. The 11-year-old threw her ticket in the bin and was then stopped by two Merseyrail employees who asked Grace to show her ticket.
“My partner turned up and there was loads of commotion and young kids getting fines. Grace had thrown hers in the bin after getting off the platform. The ticket inspectors would not let her go back and get the ticket, she had proof on her phone but they just gave her a fine.” Steven, 33, said: “It is disgusting that she has been treated like this and I don’t have £100 to pay the fine. We should not have to and the way she was treated is absolutely disgusting.
