Sam Marston and Kai Edwards were arrested after gunshots rang out in the street
Sam Marston, 21, and Kai Edwards, 20, brandished an imitation gun at a gang of rival men on the streets of Prescot around 11.30pm on Wednesday, May 24. Edwards, of Sherford Close, Netherley, fired a blank at the other men before fleeing the area.
Prosecutor Graham Pickavance told the court the 21-year-old had been due to be sentenced for possession of a 3-4 inch silver blade "the very day" he joined Edwards in committing the firearm offence. "Things have changed quite significantly for him. He has become a father. Perhaps there’s still some level of immaturity in this man, but the fact that he has become a father has bestowed a huge responsibility on him, and when he is released at a future date, having engaged with all the relevant courses in custody, he wishes to engage properly with his ex partner and become the father he should be.
"He has expressed remorse as to his behaviour and accepts this is not appropriate behaviour nor does it present any future opportunity for him.”
