Dakota’s chef cooked a 60-person dinner on Monday for the Boston Celtics players, coaches and family.
Dakota's is a 40-year-old steakhouse in downtown Dallas with a new menu and new owners. The lobster was popular on June 10, 2024 when members of the Boston Celtics team stopped in for a team dinner.
Dakota’s Steakhouse is a downtown Dallas restaurant that opened 40 years ago, in 1984. It’s known for its subterranean patio that sits underneath a busy street in Dallas. Dallas restaurateurs Tim and Meredith McEnenyOn June 10, 2024, a 60-person dinner was set up for the Boston Celtics players, coaches and spouses, the restaurant co-owner told. Celtics stars Jayson Tatum and Kristaps Porziņģis were in attendance, as were most of the rest of the team, restaurant workers confirmed.

The restaurant has a no-photo policy to protect celebrities’ privacy.
Celtics staff and players were given a varied menu of steak, lobster, lamb and more. The Celtics’ chef told Dakota’s executive chef and restaurant partner that he especially loved the 18-ounce Australian lamb chops.While some steak was ordered, more popular were the lamb chops and the lobster cappelletti, a pasta dish with lobster cream sauce and English peas.
“You know, I thought they were going to eat a lot more steak,” said executive chef and Dakota’s partner Ji Kang.Dakota's executive chef and partner Ji Kang put a Beef Wellington on the menu when the restaurant reopened a few years ago. The Beef Wellington is a favorite among some Dallas diners.On June 11, 2024, NBA analysts and former basketball players Charles Barkley and Reggie Miller also stopped in to Dakota’s. Their group of six dined in a 10-person private room.
