A memorial bench was also unveiled in Telford to mark what would have been his 56th birthday.
A fund has been set up in memory of the footballer Dalian Atkinson, who died after being tasered and beaten by a police officer in 2016.
The fund will support young people in the town and Mr Atkinson's brother Paul said he hoped it would "give them some of the chances he didn't have". Former team mates turned out to remember him: Tony Daley said: "What a fantastic player he was... on his day he was absolutely unplayable." But he said he believed the fund would mean "the younger generation are going to know about him as well".The fund will be administered by the Shropshire Community Foundation.
