Scripps said 83% of the respondents were moderately or extremely satisfied living downtown, a 14% increase since the last survey.“This is a dramatic uptick, and I think it is a testament to the new parks and all of the vibrancy that we’ve been adding when people are coming back to the city,” she said.About 94% of business owners indicated they were somewhat satisfied with their company’s location downtown.
The goal, Scripps said, was to help people see less chronic homelessness so they believe the partners and the city are “getting a handle on this issue.” In the upcoming election, voters will weigh 18 ballot propositions that could shape the city’s performance for the next decade. Three, the controversial Dallas Hero amendment proposals have evoked large-scale opposition from the who’s who of the city’s political circle. Still, Scripps said, all 18 propositions could be put under the umbrella of residents seeking more accountability from the government.
