Don’t expect us to buy the myth you and T.C. Broadnax had a swell relationship that made Dallas better the last five years.
The mayor didn’t stop at praising Broadnax. He presented a new villain in the saga — the local media, which he said repeatedly blows things out of proportion. He poked harder: “I get what people have to write to get people to click on stories in a dying industry. You got to write what you got to write to try and keep food on your family’s table.”
Throughout Johnson’s remarks, Broadnax looked like he wanted to crawl under the horseshoe. He doesn’t like the limelight, but no doubt he was as uncomfortable with the revisionist history as the rest of us.he hoped a new city manager “will allow for a more effective working relationship with the mayor and the City Council moving forward.
