Stuart Dallas has recalled the horrific moment that ended his career
Stuart Dallas has opened up on the moment his career ended at Elland Road back in April 2022. The Northern Ireland man was left in agony following a challenge on Jack Grealish in a Premier League match against Manchester City.
It was a gruesome injury for Dallas who suffered a catastrophic femoral fracture, with his anterior cruciate ligament ripped clean off the bone. "But at that time the ball was there to be won. It was an interception you make 100 times during the season and he just nipped in ahead of me. "And I remember holding my knee and looking down, and obviously not seeing anything. You could tell straight away I was in pain. I was a player who didn't really go down and stay down that often.
"I can't really remember getting stretchered off or anything. I have seen pictures and videos of it," he added. Dallas underwent seven-hour surgery that night, before six more operations over the coming months. He has kept in contact with Manchester City and England star Grealish and insists there is "no bitterness" over the tackle that ended his career.
