ScotRail has warned that all lines running through nearby Dalmuir railway station have been closed due to the incident, with disruption expected until 6pm on Monday.
A tower block has been evacuated, a railway line closed, and a bomb squad called after police discovered a suspicious item during an investigation. Officers raised the alarm on Monday afternoon while searching a property in Dalmuir's Overtoun Court, off Dunswin Avenue, as part of an ongoing probe. Police Scotland called for an explosive ordnance disposal team over the 'suspect item' and have evacuated the block of flats and neighbouring properties as a 'precaution'.
A spokesperson added: 'There are no reported casualties and crews are on standby to assist emergency service partners.' ScotRail has warned that all lines running through nearby Dalmuir railway station have been closed due to the incident. Train services running through the West Dunbartonshire station will either be cancelled, delayed or revised, with disruption expected until 6pm.
