Burn celebrated in front of the Gallowgate as he scored his first goal for the club he supported as a boy to help them through to the semi-finals.

“I was actually asking him to give a speech and he stood up and danced,” the Magpies head coach joked afterwards. “He’s a great character and added real leadership and experience to the group. He’s a really well-liked member of the dressing room. “If you’re a betting man, there is no way you are ever putting money on Dan Burn’s right foot to open the scoring in any game. He missed a header I think he’ll be disappointed with but the goal was actually a thing of beauty.
