UFC president makes stance on Conor McGregor’s feud with drug testing agency clear
Dana White refuses to get involved with Conor McGregor’s drug testing dispute with United States Anti-Doping [USADA] ahead of his comeback.during his trilogy bout with Dustin Poirier at UFC 264 in July 2021.Following a lengthy layoff, McGregor is now fully healed and booked to return in a fight against Michael Chandler whoTheir fight does not yet have a date but could be delayed by USADA as they want McGregor to undergo six months of random drug tests before he’s allowed to compete again.
On Thursday, USADA released a statement confirming ‘Notorious’ is yet to re-enter their testing pool despite having a fight booked and they insist he must be rigorously tested before taking on Chandler or any other UFC athlete.McGregor, who has repeatedly claimed he is only required to pass two drug tests before competing again,The Irishman even sang about the organisation in a voice note to the tune of Barry Manilow’s ‘Mandy’.
He said: “Oh, USADA. You came and you gave without taking, but I sent you away. Oh, USADA. You’re in the bin.”The UFC president won’t get involved with McGregor’s feud with drug testers White was asked about the ongoing feud between his biggest star and the drug testing agency he began working with in 2015 afterHe said: “Have you ever heard of [UFC Senior VP of Athlete Health and Performance] Jeff Novitzky? Ask him these questions.
“I don’t give a s*** about any of that stuff anymore. That’s his problem. I don’t get involved in the drug testing situation whatsoever.“I know nothing about it, and I don’t want to know nothing about it. I leave it to the expert. He’s the expert in this thing, and you guys can call him and interview him anytime about it.”
