Former footballer Anton Ferdinand narrowly avoided elimination during the first skate-off of Dancing On Ice 2025, leaving Chris Taylor to become the fourth celebrity to leave the competition.
Dancing On Ice has eliminated its fourth celebrity in the first dreaded skate-off of 2025. Former footballer Anton Ferdinand, 39, and Love Island star Chris Taylor, 34, faced off in a bid to impress judges Oti Mabuse, Christopher Dean, Ashley Banjo, and Jayne Torvill. All four judges unanimously decided to save Anton and his partner Annette Dytrt, sending Chris and partner Robin Johnstone home.
Anton had brought salsa energy to the rink from the start, earning a score of 34 for his routine featuring dramatic lifts, dips, and twirls with Annette to Livin’ La Vida Loca by Ricky Martin. Chris followed, impressing with his graceful performance to Golden Hour by JVKE, securing a score of 32. His initial skating partner, Vanessa Bauer, was forced to withdraw from the series after tearing ligaments in 'an accident' backstage, meaning Chris has been partnered with Robin.The skate-off was preceded by performances from other celebrities. Traitors star Mollie Pearce, 23, embraced her inner cheerleader with a Hot To Go! by Chappell Roan performance, scoring 29.5. Countryfile presenter Michaela Strachan, 58, earned 35.5 points for her graceful routine with partner Mark Hanretty, including a rotating stag and a back arabesque layout, to Chasing Cars by Snow Patrol. EastEnders star Charlie Brooks, 43, achieved her personal best score of 32 on the show after a last-minute partner swap due to injury. Her original partner, Eric Radford, was unable to perform due to an injury sustained in rehearsals, with Brendyn Hatfield stepping in.The Only Way Is Essex star Dan Edgar landed the highest score of the series so far, 38 out of 40, for a daring routine with partner Vanessa James that included a head-banger move, lifts, and a cartwheel launch, set to Lionheart (Fearless) by Joel Corry and Tom Grennan. Coronation Street star Sam Aston concluded the main performances with a score of 33 for his routine to Die With A Smile by Lady Gaga and Bruno Mars with Molly Lanaghan. Last week, Olympic rower Sir Steve Redgrave, 62, became the third celebrity eliminated from Dancing On Ice following Chelsee Healey and Ferne McCann. Dancing On Ice continues at 6.30pm on Sunday on ITV and ITX.
