Rice, who was a professional dancer on the ITV programme, died in January at the age of 49.
Dancing On Ice viewers were left in tears after tonight’s episode featured an emotional tribute to Sean Rice.During Sunday night’s episode of DOI, his friends Alexandra Schauman and Lukasz Rozycki performed a special skate in his memory.
Introducing them to the ice, presenter Stephen Mulhern said: ‘We’ve got a stunning performance choreographed by two of the shows professional skaters which they’d like to dedicate to someone very special.’ Holly Willoughby weighed in: ‘Yes, former Dancing On Ice professional Sean Rice sadly passed away in January, and he’ll be missed by all who knew him, and our thoughts are with his family so here with a beautiful routine dedicated to Sean are two of his closest friends, Alexandra and Lukasz.’
Reacting to the pair’s stunning skate, one viewer tweeted: ‘That was a truly emotional routine and it brought tears to my eyes RIP Sean Rice.’ One praised the performance and said: ‘What an amazing routine in tribute to Sean Rice You both done your friend proud & he’ll be looking down smiling xx.’
