It’s been confirmed that after the Gogglebox star’s exit, Eddie ‘The Eagle’ Edwards will take his place in the line-up. In a statement, Eddie said: ‘It’s bittersweet as whilst I’m delighted to be taking part in the new series I’m gutted for Stephen and wish him a speedy recovery. ‘Dancing on Ice is a show I’ve always wanted to do.
The now-59-year-old gained legendary status thanks to his inspiring career, which was depicted in the 2016 film, with Taron Egerton playing him. Eddie is swapping his skiis for skates Stephen, who recently left Gogglebox after a decade, had to step down from competing on Dancing On Ice after he sustained an injury.
