Reintroduced midfielder Brenden Aaronson has impressed in recent weeks - he spent last season in the Bundesliga
Aaronson, 23, walked through the doors at Thorp Arch in May 2022 ahead of the Premier League season. After impressing at Austrian outfit RB Salzburg the step up to the English top flight seemed fitting. It all started swimmingly and his goal in a 3-0 victory over Chelsea - the first in 20 years - went a long way to endearing himself to the Elland Road faithful.

At Hillsborough, the former USMNT international played in a progressive ‘number 10’ role allowing him to link with forward Mateo Joseph - which proved fruitful for the opening goal; Joseph’s cutback found its way to Aaronson who shimmied before finishing with aplomb.
