Daniel Stern, best known for playing Marv Murchins in the 'Home Alone' franchise, admits he hasn't fully watched the iconic film since its release. He prefers to focus on his current sculpting passion.
Daniel Stern , renowned for his portrayal of the hapless burglar Marv Murchins in Home Alone , has admitted that he hasn't fully revisited the beloved Christmas film since its premiere in 1990. While expressing his affection for the movie and his involvement, Daniel confessed to only catching glimpses by pure chance. The 67-year-old actor, who shared the screen with Joe Pesci, reminisced with PEOPLE about the rare occasions he encounters Home Alone . He revealed: 'I've seen clips.
I've seen it pop up. Or like, they have highlights when you turn on the TV, I turn on the TV and there I am falling on the toys or something.' Despite his limited exposure to the film, Daniel expressed his fondness for the project, stating: 'But yeah, I mean, what, am I going to hunker down and watch me? I love the movie. It's tremendous. I know the script inside and out.' Since stepping away from acting, Daniel has channeled his creative energy into sculpting, primarily working with bronze. He observed a compelling parallel between his art and film work, sharing how, after completing a sculpture, 'Once I'm done with them, they're not dead ... Creatively, they're done. I need to go to the next one.' Similar to his approach to movies, Daniel directs his focus solely on upcoming creations, maintaining a forward momentum and rarely dwelling on past projects. Regarding his experiences on set, he stated: 'My head is totally forward on the next thing I'm making. And by the time the movie comes out, that was a year ago, and it is great, but I don't want to go back. I did it. I shot it. I know it. The script was good. That scene went that way. And I'll see it once and go, yeah, that was good ... I just go forward.' Daniel also reflected on his role in Home Alone 2: Lost in New York in 1992, but it appears his passion now resides firmly in the art world rather than Hollywood. Despite this, he continues to have credits in The Simpsons, Family Guy, and Saturday Night Live. He is also a father to three children, including American politician Henry Stern
