Former 'A Place in the Sun' star Danni Menzies is sharing her experience of freezing her eggs on Instagram, aiming to break the stigma surrounding the process and encourage other women.
Former 'A Place in the Sun' star Danni Menzies has openly shared her journey to freeze her eggs with her Instagram followers. At the end of last year, the Scottish TV presenter expressed her desire to undergo the egg-freezing process and break the stigma surrounding it, vowing to document the entire experience on social media .
Now 36, Danni has provided an update on her progress, acknowledging the vulnerability of sharing such a personal experience but emphasizing her commitment to helping others. In a video posted on her Instagram page, Danni documented her first scan and the administration of injections to stimulate her ovaries. She wrote, 'A little update on my #eggfreezing journey! In the fertility hospital there’s a mix of women and ages in the waiting room, some doing IVF and some egg retrieval. 'A lovely lady going through IVF the other day said to me that she wished someone had told her to consider freezing her eggs when she was younger and that sharing my journey and encouraging others to consider it was a great thing to do. It still makes me feel vulnerable to share the process and personal details, but moments like that are exactly why I am. 'It’s a tough gig for women, typically women reach the peak of their career between 38-42, and if you haven’t met the right person and had children young or taken steps like this it can mean that you may have to potentially pick between career or children. I want us to be able to have it all, or at-least know we have options provided we act before it becomes more difficult. I know how scary it can be doing it alone so hopefully by sharing the journey it will feel a little less scary to someone x #fertility #egggang #womenempowerment #womensupportingwomen.'Danni has dubbed the series 'Eggs on Ice' and many of her followers have commended her bravery for sharing such a personal experience. Some have expressed their support and admiration, noting the importance of open discussions about this topic. One follower wrote, 'You're amazing so exciting and so brave of you to share!' Another commented, 'Loving how open you are with this topic. It’s not talked about enough.' While another said, 'Love and appreciate you sharing this journey Danni!' and 'I think it’s fab sharing this journey and it will benefit so many more women. Good luck x', another wrote. Earlier this week, it was announced that Danni is set to return to our television screens in a new series of the Channel 4 spin-off 'A Place in the Sun: What Happened Next.' Danni was a familiar face on the popular property show 'A Place in the Sun' for nearly six years. However, she decided to leave the programme in 2022 to pursue other opportunities. In this new series, Danni and her co-star Ben Hillman will revisit individuals who purchased properties overseas during their time on 'A Place in the Sun'
