George Mills will be looking to make his mark on the biggest stage of all at this summer's Olympic games in Paris
George Mills, the son of former Manchester City star Danny Mills, is preparing to compete in the 1,500m and 5,000m events at the 2024 Olympics in Paris.
After winning a silver medal in the 1,500m at the 2024 British Athletics Championships, George was chosen for Team GB's squad for the 2024 Summer Olympics. His selection is hardly surprising given his impressive run times this season, which are among the fastest by a British athlete over 1,500m and 5,000m.
His father, Danny, who also played for Manchester City and Middlesbrough, was on the pitch for every minute for England in the 2002 World Cup and won the League Cup with 'Boro in 2004. He also made over 100 appearances for Leeds, however, his son might be about to eclipse his sporting achievements this summer, reports Leeds Live.
He trains relentlessly, hitting over 200 kilometres a week at times, and told The Telegraph how he cherishes the structure and sacrifice that defines an elite athlete's life. "I'm just happy to wake up, train, have lunch, sleep, train again, dinner, go to bed," he said.
