NRL: The Newcastle knights have miraculously made it into the NRL finals after defeating the Dolphins during the last regular season game of the year.
The minor premiers the Storm are deserved favourites for the title, but a spate of injuries amongst the elite teams has thrown the race for the premiership wide open .
Amongst the title heavyweights, the Storm have a fullback injury crisis, while the Roosters have lost three of their most important players and the Panthers have been clunky without Nathan Cleary, who returns in week one.
