Shane Weatherstone and wife Tanya said the escalating crime was driving people out of the Territory and called on the government to be more proactive in tackling the problem.
With interest rates on the rise and insurance unlikely to cover the cost, the couple facing a long road ahead to rebuild their home and their lives. "It's our superannuation. We'll walk away with nothing now because we want to repair it and leave the Territory." Determined to see the community improve, Mr Weatherstone met with local member Eva Lawler this morning to raise his concerns, calling for more police on the streets and more politicians speaking up for victims of crime.
