Australia became the first country to ban the use of social media for under 16s last month.
The daughter of Rangers legend Iain Ferguson has backed calls for the Scottish Government to "catch up" with an international social media ban for children.
Kelsey told the Record: "Social media impacted my life massively as a kid but nowadays children are being exposed to so much more trolling and violence. It was bad when I was growing up, but it is even worse now. "Without action from them, children will only go on to access these apps after 16 and all the trolling, unrealistic expectations and harmful clips will still be there."
"If kids had less access to social media, we would see less of these violent clips being shared because they wouldn't be out looking for the 'likes' and shares that youths seem to crave nowadays. I think that the under 16 phones, which have already been introduced in areas in America, would revolutionise the epidemic of youth violence and cyberbullying that we have here in Scotland.
Angela said: "Abbie was coming home after being bullied outside yet she had no escape because the torment would just move to being online. There is no escape for these kids - most children have access to social media nowadays.
