Lorraine Shannon 'felt sick' after her mum Jacqueline was diagnosed with stage four primary tonsil cancer in March - which has no cure. She has spoken of her family's shock.

A daughter says her "world stopped" when she heard the devastating news that her 56-year-old mum has terminal cancer which cannot be cured.

“Before my mum’s cancer diagnosis I was guilty of hearing of families who were faced with a cancer diagnosis and being sympathetic, however you never truly know the effect cancer has until you are watching someone you love more than life fight daily for their life." “My mum has now completed three rounds of chemotherapy out of six and The Beatson has now become a huge part of my family’s life. I get to witness the incredible effort, nurture, love and care the staff give to not only my mum but everyone.

Maisie McCormick, community fundraising manager at Beatson Cancer Charity, said: “We’re so excited to be celebrating Off the Beatson Track’s 10-year milestone.
