The Davao Prison and Penal Farm (DPPF) in Davao del Norte can now detect tuberculosis (TB) infection among its persons deprived of liberty (PDLs) without need of assistance from other agencies. | ManilaBulletin
In a statement, the Bureau of Corrections said DPPF’s now has a GeneXpert machine that can detect TB infection in less than two hours. It said DPPF personnel had been trained by the Department of Health in the use of the machine.
“The equipment is part of the National Tuberculosis Program of the DOH, which aims to eliminate TB cases in the Philippines,” it noted.
