Personnel of the Davao Prison and Penal Farm (DPPF) in Davao del Norte have been required to undergo annual mandatory drugs test, the Bureau of Corrections (BuCor) said. | ManilaBulletin

In a statement, BuCor said that DPPF Acting Superintendent Rufino A. Martin “has also required biometrics enrolment of personnel at the Provincial Health Office of Davao del Norte.

It noted that the Department of Health had ordered all Drug Testing Centers “to adapt the implementation of Integrated Drug Test Operations and Management Information System that automates the processes from accreditation, drug test and rehabilitation operations, quality assurance and monitoring.”

“IDTOMIS aims to establish an Information and Communications Technology solution for efficient and effective accreditation of drug testing laboratories and related facilities, monitoring and quality assurance of drug test operations, integration with rehabilitation centers, sharing and retrieval of relevant information for decision-making and policy formulation of various agencies using drug testing data,” it said.

“The Provincial Health Office of Davao Del Norte headed by Dr. Mary Anne L. Bernas assures their capacity, competence, integrity and stability to conduct the laboratory examinations and tests and shall be monitored by the DOH to safeguard the quality of test results,” it added. Aside from DPPF, the other prison facilities of BuCor are the New Bilibid Prison in Muntinlupa City; Correctional Institution for Women in Mandaluyong City; Iwahig Prison and Penal Farm in Puerto Princesa City, Palawan; Sablayan Prison and Penal Farm in Occidental Mindoro; San Ramon Prison and Penal Farm in Zamboanga City; and Leyte Regional Prison in Abuyog, Leyte.
