Dave Chappelle and his wife Elaine were spotted making the rounds in New York City on a rare public night out for dinner at the celebrity hot spot Sadelle's.His wife of 23 years was dressed for the heat in a gray tank top and a skirt with a drawstring waist.The former Chappelle's Show host — who performed at Abu Dhabi Comedy Week last month — also smoked a cigarette as he walked down the street.
The sighting comes after a performance last month in which Chappelle accused Israel of committing genocide in Gaza. He said the Gaza Strip faces a 'genocide', and that by making Jews safer in America would make them realize they didn't need Israel as an ultimate protector. Chappelle's comments come as Abu Dhabi has maintained its diplomatic relations with Israel even as it increasingly criticized Israel's conduct in the seven-month-long war.
The sighting comes after Chappelle performed in Abu Dhabi last month where he accused Israel of committing genocide in Gaza; pictured in 2023 Chappelle has been widely criticized in recent years for a steady stream of jokes involving transgender people, which many critics have labeled transphobic.
