Those who enjoy a potter around in the garden have been urged to not mow their lawn until June or even later in July amid a 'No Mow May' campaign.

David Attenborough has shared a stark warning telling people to avoid carrying out a common lawn job until two dates in the summer.

Getting rid of the longer grass can interfere with this work and can kill off many essential insects that are such an important part of the world's ecosystem. Sir David has suggested stretching this wait until part way through July, reports the Express. The No Mow May campaign by UK wildlife organisation Plantlife encourages people to avoid mowing their lawns between the months of April and May to allow nature to thrive.
