Three Lions: It’s Coming Home For Christmas 🦁 🎅 David Baddiel and Frank Skinner have given fans a first look at the revamped version of their iconic World Cup tune.
And as David put it during his interview: ‘Well, football came home.’
He added, however: ‘We decided to give it one more go on the basis the blokes have not brought it home.’ Giving some insight into what to expect from the music video, David says it starts with them ‘getting really behind’ the Lionesses, ‘but then lamenting that the men are still there, trying away.’ The video sees the duo decorate the tree in trophies as they plead for the men’s team to bring it home The show then aired a first look at the song and its video, which features David and Frank in Christmas jumpers, singing: ‘The blokes seem cursed whenever they try and I think I know why, they’re just jinxed in July – but it’s December!’
‘Three lions on the sleigh, with she-lions’ inspiration,’ they sing as they hang baubles on the tree featuring the face of team captain Leah Williamson.England have been waiting for a win, the video also sees David and Frank from the original video 26 years ago, sitting down with a cup of tea insisting that this will be the year.
